How can VARs and managed services providers differentiate in the cloud backup market? Perhaps some answers will surface at this week's Asigra Cloud Backup Partner Summit (June 7-8, Toronto). TalkinCloud Contributing Associate Blogger Matt Weinberger is flying to the conference as I write this.

When I asked Weinberger what he expected to uncover at the conference he offered up these three themes:

1. Standing Out From the Crowd: Some TalkinCloud readers half-jokingly tell us that cloud backup now stands for crowd backup because the market is so darn crowded. In order to help MSPs differentiate, the conference has three tracks: OutMarket, OutSell, and OutSmart.

2. Mastering the Mobile Game: Cloud backup pushes far beyond servers and desktops. Leading MSPs have now connected the dots between cloud backup and mobile devices of all types. Weinberger will be looking for some key examples at the conference.

3. Intriguing Partnerships: Intel, NetApp and Symantec each are scheduled to attend the conference. Symantec's participation is particularly interesting, considering a cloud version of Symantec Backup Exec is expected to surface later this year...
