Ransomware has become a threat to individuals and businesses alike over the past couple of years. A recent study identified more than 4 million samples of ransomware in Q2 of 2015, including 1.2 million new samples. According to the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology (ICIT), 2016 and 2017 are expected to be years that ransomware wreaks havoc on American companies.
