Canadian cloud services aggregator Modular DPS has launched its Modular 360° Partner Program in North America. Billed as a “comprehensive cloud data protection strategy,” the program is designed to assist MSPs in providing a turnkey solution for cloud data protection, and lower barriers to entry for channel partners into the cloud services market.

“With the rise in cloud data protection adoption has come layers of complexity and confusion as well as an increasing array of offerings and associated marketing misuse of terminology such as business continuity and disaster recovery,” said Eric Strong, CEO, Modular DPS, in a prepared statement.  “We believe there is an incredible need to reduce this complexity and eliminate existing barriers to market entry.”

The 360° Partner Program provides two separate paths for partners. The first, AiR (Assured Information Recovery), is a tiered, multitenant data protection and recovery service featuring FIPS 140-2 certified encryption, according to the company, and includes flexible hybrid cloud data protection, end-to-end data protection for SMBs and “agentless” deployment, eliminating the need to install software on every backup server.

Modular’s second path is Modular 360° DPaaS (Data Protection as a Service), a “comprehensive data vault deployment solution,” according to the company, which enables channel partners to host their own cloud data protection service by participating in the Modular 360° Partner Program. Program participants include Intel Hybrid Cloud and 6fusion, among others. Modular DPS offers services including sales, support, training, setup and marketing tools. Features include:

  • The MSPexcellence Cloud Solutions Provider Playbook and Program

  • Access to an Intel Hybrid Cloud ... data collector appliance, preconfigured for the local data management and connection to the cloud data vault

  • Access to the 6fusion IaaS hosted data vault deployment

  • Extensive sales, marketing and technical support services and templates to launch the service

In a briefing earlier this month Modular DPS CEO Eric Strong emphasized the focus his company has on maximizing value for its channel partners. The take-home message for MSPs?
“The bottom line is to easily and effectively provide data protection services in your current business model, start incremental revenues, and ensure the sustainability of a company’s data, which as an asset is really the lifeblood of a business.”
