IBM (IBM) and automated server migration software developer Racemi have partnered to provide customers with an automated migration path to an IBM cloud offering of choice, free of charge for a limited time.
Racemi Product Management Vice President James Strayer says the partnership "ensures there is a fast, easy way to move existing workloads to IBM’s cloud computing platforms."
Racemi’s Cloud Path software automates migration of existing Microsoft (MSFT) Windows and Linux servers to public cloud services. Infrastructure to deploy or manage is not needed on a customer's site with this software as a service (SaaS). Customer data is secured and compressed using AES/RSA SSL encryption over firewall.
Racemi Product Management Vice President James Strayer said in a prepared statement that the partnership "ensures there is a fast, easy way to move existing workloads to IBM’s cloud computing platforms."
IBM Cloud Infrastructure Offerings Director Kit Linton said in a prepared statement that the new migration service will help accelerate IBM customers to the cloud.
"As more clients demand enterprise cloud capabilities, they are looking to IBM to deliver the security, privacy and reliability of open, private clouds with the economy and speed of a public cloud through IBM cloud," he said.
