CloudPassage has named Amrit Williams, a former IBM (IBM) and McAfee (MFE) executive, as its chief technology officer (CTO).
CloudPassage Chief Technology Officer Amrit Williams
Williams is a 20-year veteran of the enterprise security and software space and previously served as a CTO at IBM, Quantivo and BigFix.
He also has led engineering operations at nCircle (which was later acquired by Tripwire) and McAfee and served as a lead analyst for Gartner, managing the firm's information security and risk research.
"[Williams'] deep experience and security technology vision will be a tremendous addition to the CloudPassage team as we continue to lead the way in the emerging software-defined security market," CloudPassage CEO Carson Sweet said in a prepared statement.
CloudPassage has made several notable hires over the past few months as well.
In addition to Williams, CloudPassage last month appointed Brian Harmon as its executive vice president of global sales.
Where will CloudPassage go from here?
Sweet said Williams will lead CloudPassage's technology team and ensure customers are fully supported.
"CloudPassage as a company has evolved to serve the needs of large enterprises," Sweet told Talkin' Cloud. "In the long-term, Amrit will grow the technology organization to tackle completely new problems for our customers."
This SDSec company has multiple products on its roadmap as well, according to Sweet.
CloudPassage currently offers CloudPassage Halo, which manages security and compliance in hybrid, private and public clouds, and Sweet noted key parts of the platform's architecture "will evolve to enable even more capabilities."
