Cosentry will be offering RiverMeadow Software's automated server migration platform to its customers, enabling them to migrate servers to the cloud in an automated fashion.
Cosentry and RiverMeadow Software have joined forces in a partnership under which Cosentry will offer the RiverMeadow automated server migration platform through its Cloud Services program, making it easier for customers and partners to automatically migrate servers to the cloud.
RiverMeadow developed its platform specifically with carriers and service providers in mind, and that fits Cosentry's modus operandi. Cosentry is a large cloud and data center services provider. The addition of RiverMeadow's SaaS offering makes sense and should help the company migrate its customers' servers to the cloud in more rapidly than in the past.
"Many businesses find themselves dissatisfied with a cloud provider due to lack of performance or reliability, but struggle with a method to migrate to a more trusted provider. The RiverMeadow Cloud Migration SaaS is an incredible tool, giving clients a fast and cost-effective way to migrate their existing servers to a cloud platform more focused on supporting mission-critical applications," said Craig Hurley, vice president of Product Management at Cosentry, in a prepared statement. "Adding RiverMeadow to Cosentry's Cloud Services portfolio provides our clients with a tool that recognizes the importance of their business needs and further differentiates Cosentry in the marketplace."
Basically, RiverMeadow's SaaS makes it quicker to migrate servers to IaaS platforms, which likely means Cosentry will be using it as an onboarding tool for its own cloud services. Speeding up migration could provide Cosentry—or others who are opting for this route—a competitive differentiation, which is becoming increasingly important in the competitive cloud market.
