CliQr is enabling cloud services providers to migrate customer applications to private and public clouds with an updated version of its CloudCenter solution.
CliQr Technologies has added a new set of features around performance and manageability to support mission-critical cloud computing in the latest version of its CloudCenter solution. CloudCenter 2.0 is also being targeted at cloud services providers—and cloud providers in general—to make it easier for them to migrate customers' applications to private and public clouds.
CloudCenter 2.0 was designed to make it easy for cloud services providers to manage private and public cloud deployments for a variety of applications and to support different use cases such as cloud-based disaster recovery and public development and test environments. With the Vendor Edition of the product, cloud services providers can "progressively retain and repurpose intellectual property from one client engagement to another by publishing applications and application templates to an established repository." Basically, do it once and then reuse templates—a process a lot of vendors and partners have turned to make things as simple as possible in an increasingly complex IT environment.
Similarly for cloud providers, the product is meant to help them move customer business-critical applications to their platforms without having to modify the application. According to CliQr, once on the platform, cloud providers can provide more value-added services to "demonstrate differentiation and enhance customer loyalty."
"Our new release intelligently integrates a required and logical combination of features that provide the best in both application migration simplicity and portability along with deep, granular runtime management and optimization," said Gaurav Manglik, CEO and co-founder of CliQr, in a prepared statement.
The product is available in both the Enterprise Edition and the new Vendor Edition, the latter of which is being targeted at cloud services providers and cloud providers. The Vendor Edition was developed to include additional features for businesses that use cloud commercially to deliver solutions and services to customers. That fits the needs of cloud services providers and cloud infrastructure providers, but also systems integrators, software providers and professional services firms.
