Salesforce will be hosting its Dreamforce event in San Francisco this week. What should attendees pay attention to at the event? Where has Salesforce been these past few months.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff will make his opening keynote address on Tuesday, along with additional guests.
Salesforce.com (CRM) will be hosting its Dreamforce event in San Francisco, Calif this week. Lots of cloud computing news came out of last week's Amazon re:Invent event that may help redefine the future of today's market. And we can expect Salesforce to ride on the back of Amazon (AMZN)'s momentum.
Partners at ConnectWise's IT Nation 2013 conference told Talkin' Cloud that many familiar channel companies are sending representatives to Dreamforce to take notes and report back on any channel-related announcements.
Here's a preview of what's expected at the event and what to watch for:
- According to the Dreamforce website, more than 350 vendors will be showing off more than 1,000 integrated solutions to attendees at the event's Cloud Expo, which is open every day.
- Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff will make his opening keynote address on Tuesday, and other guests are slated to speak, too.
- Salesforce's Wednesday keynotes will feature announcements related to the company's portfolio of solutions.
- There will be a Q&A session with Benioff and Salesforce co-founder Parker Harris.
Here's what Salesforce has been up to in recent months:
Salesforce took its Salesforce AppExchange to another level last month by offering a private version to businesses looking to customize their own app store for employees.
The company reached two million Salesforce AppExchange installs at the end of September, continuing the marketplace's momentum into the fourth quarter.
The CRM company pushed out new tools and features to assist developers with building apps that help users make the most of "micro-moments." The tool sets include mobile design templates, mobile packs and a new SmartSync Data Framework.
Talkin' Cloud will continue to cover channel-related announcements coming out of this week's Dreamforce conference. Check back for more news.
