Ingram Micro next week is holding its 2014 Cloud Summit at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla. to unveil how it plans to transform itself into a worldwide cloud services provider. How can partners prepare for the event?
Ingram Micro Cloud Computing VP Renee Bergeron says the company is dedicated to assisting resellers with getting their business ready for cloud.
Ingram Micro (IM) next week is holding its 2014 Cloud Summit at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla. to unveil how it plans to transform itself into a worldwide cloud services provider.
Earlier this week the global technology distributor shuffled its cloud leadership by naming Nimesh Dave, Ingram Micro’s executive vice president of Global Cloud Computing, as its lead coordinator for the expansion of its North American Cloud Services division.
Ingram Micro also noted it will leverage its Cloud Marketplace by adopting a global platform built to enhance the marketplace through a new series of cloud management services -- many of which will be revealed to channel partners at the conference.
"We're excited about launching a number of new programs as part of the Cloud Summit 2014 that will allow Ingram Micro reseller partners to rise above their competition, rise above their status quo," Ingram Micro Cloud Computing Vice President Renee Bergeron told Talkin' Cloud during a conference call.
There will be a number of business development work sessions available for resellers looking to add additional value to their business.
"It's not only about the solution, but it's about how they get their own business ready to be successful in the cloud," she said.
These work sessions aim to assist resellers with building a business plan, generating leads, focusing on the operational aspect of business, and marketing and selling cloud services.
"Everything in the cloud is different," Bergeron explained. "You've got to have a new approach to it in order to succeed. If you think in terms of the old way of doing business, what's been successful for you so far, it may not be successful in the cloud."
She said the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit is one event where "channel partners can truly maximize their time and learn about alot of solutions, so they can figure out how to solve their end-customer's business problems with cloud services."
Ingram Micro is expecting close to 1,000 attendees at the event. This year resellers from Latin America and Europe will be in attendance.
P.S.: Ingram Micro is also holding two runnings sessions for channel partners in need of some exercise: one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. ET.
P.P.S.: Be on the lookout for Bergeron with her running shoes.
