Rackspace (RAX), a Talkin' Cloud Top 100 Cloud Services Provider for 2013, has made it a point to educate customers on OpenStack technology by launching a new e-learning training course, adding four new classroom-based classes, and establishing a training partner program for its Rackspace Training for OpenStack program.
Rackspace has launched OpenStack Fundamentals, a new e-learning version of Rackspace Training for OpenStack, for students looking to take the course at their own pace. Customers can pre-register for OpenStack Fundamentals now, but Rackspace will not make the course generally available to the public until October 2013.
Rackspace also added four new classroom-based training courses to its current training offering, making a total of eight classroom courses. These new courses include OpenStack Networking – Neutron, Building Cloudy Apps, Security in the Cloud, and Hadoop on OpenStack.
To assist the company with training, Rackspace established a training partner program, leveraging certified partners, including New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, Skyline Advanced Technology Services and Intelligent Cloud Technologies (ICT), Rackspace OpenStack Training and Certification Director Tony Campbell told Talkin' Cloud.
"Selected training partners must fulfill the following requirements to become certified trainers: complete the classroom course that they will teach, attend a train the trainer course, co-teach a live classroom course with Rackspace trainers and pass the certified technician exam," he said.
Rackspace recently appointed Taylor Rhodes as its chief customer officer (CCO), a first for the company. Rhodes will lead Rackspace's sales and support organizations on a global level.
