Juniper Networks (JNPR) is putting a stronger channel push on its cloud solutions. The networking company announced an expansion to its Juniper Partner Advantage program that will focus on cloud computing. The new Juniper Partner Advantage Cloud program will provide channel partners with many of the same benefits found in the channel program launched in 2012, but it will focus on cloud channel enablement.

The program was designed to help Juniper channel partners tap into opportunities in the cloud market and providing those partners with cloud-enabled programming, technologies, service and support infrastructure for delivering cloud architecture and services to the end customer.

"Juniper Networks' Partner Advantage Cloud specialization reinforces our commitment to network innovation that addresses broader technology trends, and supporting and delivering new revenue opportunities for our partners within the cloud marketplace by leveraging Juniper Networks products, solutions and resources," said Emilio Umeoka, senior vice president of Worldwide Partners at Juniper Networks, in a prepared statement.

The launch of the new channel partner program specialization represents Juniper's first real shot at defining its own cloud go-to-market strategy—at least publicly. Through the program, Juniper noted it hopes to help partners define and segment their cloud capabilities while also leveraging Juniper technologies and technology partnerships.

Still, the program was designed with three partner types in mind, including:

  • Cloud system integrators who have software-defined networking, network infrastructure and advanced security authorizations.
  • Cloud services partners who can take support services and sell and provision cloud-based services or managed services.
  • Cloud infrastructure partners who can deliver full cloud solutions based on Juniper technology.

The Juniper Partner Advantage Cloud program is a specialization element of the overal partner program that is available to qualifying Juniper Elite partners.
